The book tells of Suzanna’s experience in a ship as she went cruising with her boyfriend Daniel. Daniel was kidnapped when the boat was invaded by bandits and Suzanna found herself in the arms of her rescuer, Ronald. Ronald is impressive and charming. He almost manages to have Suzanna forget about Daniel but on what was to be their first night together, Daniel resurfaces. He has been looking for Suzanna. He looks tired and wasted. Suzanna has to make a choice.
